We are looking for an enthusiastic motivated Sous Chef to join our small team in a busy seaside village pub/restaurant/hotel. The Olde Ship Inn at Seahouses is currently seeking a Sous Chef to provide support with the day to day running of the kitchen. A positive attitude and the ability to mix well with staff and guests is more important as full training will be given. Full time position. Driving is essential due to location.

  • Assist the Head Chef in the smooth running of the day to day operations.
  • Contribute to GP, wages, menu ideas, cost saving and sales.
  • Be responsible for the kitchen in the Head Chefs absence.
  • Lead by example and offer training and coaching where needed.
  • Set up food and serving areas
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene & cleanliness throughout the kitchen, storage areas and surrounding work spaces.
  • Use the correct tools and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist with deliveries unloading and checking delivery notes.
  • Assist with food ordering and planning.
