We are looking for a sous chef to join our team at the Cellar at 24 in the beautiful village of Anstruther. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to further their career working under a passionate, experienced head chef. We work closely with local suppliers and celebrate what we have on our doorstep with simple but elegant cooking. We are looking for a passionate, driven chef to assist our head chef and fill in in his absence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining quality and presentation.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service periods.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including equipment and utensils.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a sous or in a similar role within a kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate with colleagues in a busy kitchen setting.
  • A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests.
