Catherine’s Coffee Lounge, based at The Salvation Army’s Norwich Citadel, is at the heart of our community work – a welcoming space where good food brings people together. We’re now looking for a Relief Chef to support our kitchen as and when required, helping us serve nutritious, well-prepared meals that make a real difference to people’s lives.

About the role
As a Relief Chef, you’ll be responsible for delivering healthy, cost-effective menus that meet a range of dietary and nutritional needs. You’ll work in a commercial kitchen environment, ensuring excellent food hygiene and safety standards at all times, and leaving the kitchen clean, organised, and ready for service.
You’ll also play a key role in supporting and guiding Assistants and Volunteers, helping to create a positive, respectful, and collaborative kitchen culture.

- Have solid experience preparing and serving food in a commercial kitchen
- Enjoy working with and supporting others, including volunteers
- Understand the importance of catering for diverse community needs
- Communicate clearly in English and build positive working relationships
- Share and respect the values, aims, and ethos of The Salvation Army
