We’re a small, independent restaurant in Looe, proud winners of “Best of the Best” two years running. With 30 covers, we focus on quality, consistency, and great food rather than volume.

We’re looking for a talented and passionate chef to join our team. As a chef, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, waste control, and presenting high-quality dishes to our customers.

We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Head Chef to take full ownership of the kitchen whilst working effectively within a small team.

Maintain the kitchen to a 5★ food hygiene standard Ensure all food hygiene, health & safety regulations are met.

The kitchen is maintained to a high standard, organised, and service-ready Contribute ideas for menus and specials.

Working Days: Tuesday to Saturday

Covers: Approx 30 covers

About You Experience as a Head Chef or strong Senior Chef Confident working solo in a small kitchen Team-focused with good communication skills Flexible and reliable, with availability to extend hours during busy summer periods.

  • Plan menus and design dishes based on seasonality and availability of ingredients
  • Manage the kitchen , ensuring high standards of food quality and hygiene are maintained
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared and cooked to the highest standard and presented beautifully
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs and wastage
  • Order and manage stock levels of ingredients and kitchen equipment
  • Ensure that health and safety standards are met in the kitchen at all times
  • Continuously develop and innovate new dishes to enhance the menu

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chef, with a strong track record in high-end restaurants or hotels
  • Excellent knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and cuisines
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • A creative approach to menu design and dish presentation
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Food Hygiene Level 3 or higher qualification
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
