We are seeking an experienced and driven Head Chef to lead the kitchen at The Faulkner Arms, an established and popular venue in Hoole, Chester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate chef to put their stamp on a well-loved site and showcase their creativity through seasonal menus and daily specials using fresh, locally sourced produce.
The Role
As Head Chef, you will take full responsibility for the kitchen operation, ensuring consistently high food standards while maintaining strong commercial performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering seasonal menus and regular lunch-time specials
- Managing and maintaining accurate stock control and ordering
- Writing kitchen rotas in line with agreed wage budgets
- Driving food gross profit performance and cost control
- Leading, motivating and developing the kitchen team
- Ensuring full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
About You
We are looking for a confident, hands-on leader who thrives in a busy, quality-focused environment.
You will have:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous in a similar size, high-volume venue
- Strong menu development and costing skills
- Excellent stock management and GP control experience
- Ability to plan rotas to meet wage budgets
- Passion for fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients
- A proactive, organised and team-focused approach
